Cheddar's Deals LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website https://www.cheddarsdeals.com (the "Site") and the Cheddar's Deals mobile application (the "App") (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit or interact with our Services.

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use our Services.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• The Cheddar's Deals website at https://www.cheddarsdeals.com
• The Cheddar's Deals mobile application on iOS and Android
• Any communications, push notifications, emails, or other content delivered through our Services

This policy does not apply to third-party websites, retailers, or services linked from our Services. Each third party operates under its own privacy policy, and we are not responsible for their practices.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Voluntarily Provide

We may collect personal information you voluntarily provide, including:

• Email address (e.g., when contacting us, signing up for alerts, or entering giveaways)
• Name
• Messages, inquiries, feedback, or submissions through forms
• Any other information you choose to share

b. Information Automatically Collected (Website)

When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect:

• IP address
• Browser type and version
• Device type and operating system
• Pages visited
• Referring URLs
• Date and time of access

This is the standard access-log information recorded by our web host's servers.

c. Information Automatically Collected (Mobile App)

When you use the App, we collect or process:

• App ID — a random identifier the App creates when it's installed. It isn't tied to your name, email, phone number, or advertising ID. We use it to keep your alert settings and saved searches together.
• Push notification token — issued through Expo, Apple, and Google so we can deliver deal alerts to your device. Stored with your App ID on our servers (Google Firebase).
• Notification settings — whether alerts are on, which categories and stores you've turned off, and your Quiet Hours, so we only send the alerts you want.
• Time zone, app version, and device platform (iOS or Android) — used to respect your Quiet Hours and send notifications in the right format.
• Saved searches — search terms you choose to save, stored with your App ID so we can alert you when a matching deal posts.
• Deal interactions — when you favorite a deal or vote on whether it still works, we update an anonymous public count on that deal.

Stored only on your device: your layout, browser choice, and other display settings. (In app versions before 1.2.3, your favorites and votes are also stored only on your device.)

We do not use advertising identifiers or third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Anonymous app ID. Starting with version 1.2.4, the Cheddar's Deals app creates a random, anonymous ID the first time you open it, using Google Firebase. You never sign in, and the ID isn't linked to your name, email address, phone number or any account. It belongs to this installation of the app: if you delete the app or clear its data, the app creates a new ID and the old one is no longer used. It is separate from the App ID above, the ID this phone's alert registration is kept under.

We use it only to make the app work:

• to keep your alert settings, saved searches, favorites and deal votes tied to your app;
• to count your vote once;
• to note whether you opened a deal's link or alert, so each open counts once;
• to make sure only your app can change its own alert settings and saved searches;
• to limit how often test alerts can be sent and requests to delete your data can be made, so they can't be abused.

Your favorites and saved searches are stored privately under your ID. A saved search made before your ID is ready, or in an app version older than 1.2.3, is kept the way older versions keep them: in a list that isn't private, until the app moves it to your private list. We don't use the ID for advertising.

We do not collect:

• Contact lists
• Photos or media (except images you voluntarily upload as an administrator)
• Calendar, microphone, or biometric data
• Precise location (GPS)
• Health, financial, or payment information
• Browsing history outside our Services

d. Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party services we use (e.g., affiliate networks, social media platforms) about the performance of our content, links, and campaigns.

e. Short Links

When you open a short link on chdrs.co or cheddarsdeals.com, we count the click: a running total and the time of the most recent click for that link. We don't store your IP address, device details, or any other personal information with the count. Like any web page, the visit itself also appears in our web host's standard access logs (see b above).

3. How We Use Information

We use information collected through our Services to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Services
• Send push notifications about deals, freebies, promo codes, and other content (subject to your notification preferences)
• Send promotional emails or newsletters (only if you opt in)
• Track affiliate referrals and earn commissions
• Analyze traffic, usage, and engagement
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
• Respond to inquiries, comments, or support requests
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies (Website)

The Site does not use advertising pixels, web beacons, analytics tools, or cross-site tracking cookies.

The Site itself stores only one value in your browser's local storage (cd_app_popup_seen), so the app promotion appears only once. It contains no personal information.

Some features are provided by third parties, which may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies:

• Affiliate links — when you click through to a retailer or affiliate network, that site may set cookies to credit the referral to us.
• Newsletter sign-up — our sign-up form is provided by Kit (ConvertKit), which may set cookies when you use the form.

You can clear local storage and block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so won't affect browsing deals on the Site.

The App does not use traditional web cookies. Local data in the App is stored using your operating system's standard application storage.

Do Not Track

We don't track you across other websites, so browser "Do Not Track" signals don't change how the Site works. We don't allow third parties to collect personal information about your activity across different websites through our Site; affiliate sites may set their own cookies only after you click through to them.

5. Affiliate Disclosure & Third-Party Links

Cheddar's Deals participates in affiliate marketing programs, including but not limited to:

• Amazon Services LLC Associates Program
• Walmart Creator Program
• Lowe's Creator Program
• The Home Depot Creator Program
• Best Buy Creator Program
• Impact.com
• Mavely
• ShopYourLikes
• Collective Voice
• Other retailer and brand affiliate programs

What this means:

• When you click a link or make a purchase through our Services, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
• We provide this disclosure in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. § 255).
• We only post deals that we believe are genuinely worth your attention. Commissions do not dictate which deals we feature.

6. Push Notifications

To receive deal alerts in the App, you must opt in to push notifications. You can turn alerts on or off in the App's Alerts tab, turn off specific categories (Price Errors, Run Deals, Deals, Freebies) or specific stores, set Quiet Hours, or disable notifications in your device settings. Push tokens are stored with your random App ID and are not linked to your name, email, or other personal identifiers.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:

• To comply with applicable laws, regulations, subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process
• To enforce our terms of service or other agreements
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of our Company, our users, or others
• To service providers and contractors who assist in operating our Services, subject to confidentiality obligations
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, or similar corporate transaction
• With your consent or at your direction

Service Providers We Use

• Google Firebase (Google LLC) — database, file storage, and cloud functions that power deals, blog posts, short links, and App notification settings.
• Expo — delivers push notifications to the App, through Apple and Google.
• Hostinger — hosts our websites and keeps standard server access logs.
• Kit (ConvertKit) — sends our email newsletter, if you subscribe.
• Web3Forms — delivers messages you send through our contact form.
• Google Fonts (Google LLC) — serves the Site's fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser information when a page loads.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Specifically:

• App data tied to your anonymous app ID. Your anonymous app ID and the data tied to it (this phone's alert registration and alert settings, your saved searches, your hearts and votes, your Shop-click and alert-open records, and the times of your most recent test alerts) are kept until you delete them in the app (Settings → Delete my data). Of your saved searches, the newest 25 are kept (the app lets you save 20). Hearts, votes, and Shop-click and alert-open records are also deleted automatically when the deal they belong to is removed (deals that aren't pinned are removed after 45 days). If alerts can no longer reach your device (the app was removed, say), alerts to it are paused automatically.
• Data from app versions before 1.2.4, which have no anonymous app ID (this phone's alert registration and alert settings, and your saved searches, kept under its App ID), is never deleted automatically: it is kept until you delete it. Update the app and use Delete my data, or contact us.
• Records of the alerts we send (they include your device's push token and App ID, and for an alert about one of your saved searches, that search and your anonymous app ID, once the search is stored under that ID) are deleted automatically within about 30 days.
• One-way coded records of your device's push tokens, each with the times of its recent test alerts, are deleted automatically by our daily cleanup once 30 days have passed since the last test recorded for that token.
• A one-way coded record of your anonymous app ID with the times of your recent requests to delete your data, kept to prevent abuse, is deleted automatically by our daily cleanup once 30 days have passed since your last request.
• Delivery-health records (a one-way coded form of a device's push token, with when alerts to it last got through or started failing) are deleted automatically within about 90 days once no alert registration uses that token. While a registration on the same phone still uses it, the record stays: for example, if you delete your data and then turn alerts back on, the app usually registers the same push token again.
• Server logs are kept for 30 days.
• Deals are deleted automatically after 45 days, except pinned deals, which remain until we remove them. Since our update on October 8, 2026, a deal's images go with it, unless another deal or post still uses the same image; images of deals removed before then may still be stored.
• Email correspondence is retained as needed to provide support and for our records.
• Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 13 (or under the age required by your jurisdiction, where higher).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete it.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us via our contact form.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal information
• Restriction — request that we limit the use of your personal information
• Portability — request a machine-readable copy of your personal data
• Objection — object to certain processing of your personal data
• Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent
• Opt-out — opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails, or by adjusting your in-App notification preferences

Delete your data in the app: open the Cheddar's Deals app and go to Settings → Delete my data. In app versions before 1.2.4, update the app to use Delete my data, or contact us. This deletes your anonymous app ID and the data tied to it: this phone's alert registration and alert settings, your saved searches, your hearts and votes, your Shop-click and alert-open records, and the times of your most recent test alerts. The app restarts and deletes it as soon as you confirm (it needs an internet connection to finish), says when it's done, and then starts like a fresh install. The item "Your app ID" in the app's list covers both IDs: your anonymous app ID, which is deleted, and your App ID, which the app forgets. Hearts, votes, Shop clicks and alert opens made in app versions before 1.2.4 stay in deal totals, with nothing that identifies you. Some technical records are removed later by our automatic cleanup:

• records of the alerts we sent (they include your device's push token and App ID, and for an alert about one of your saved searches, that search and your anonymous app ID, once the search is stored under that ID): within about 30 days;
• a one-way coded record of your anonymous app ID with the times of your recent requests to delete your data, kept to prevent abuse: by our daily cleanup once 30 days have passed since your last request;
• any remaining one-way coded records of your push tokens with the times of recent test alerts: by our daily cleanup once 30 days have passed since the last test recorded for each token (Delete my data removes the one for the push token your alert registration uses now, unless another alert registration on your phone still uses that token);
• delivery-health records (a one-way coded form of your push token, with when alerts to it last got through or started failing): within about 90 days once no alert registration on your phone uses that token. If you turn alerts back on after deleting your data, the app usually registers the same push token again, so this record stays, with nothing that links it to your old anonymous app ID.

Server logs are kept for 30 days. You can also contact us through our contact form at cheddarsdeals.com/contact/.

We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may decline requests where legally permitted.

Notice for California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

Notice for European Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. The legal bases for our processing are: your consent, the performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, and compliance with legal obligations.

11. Notification Controls

You can manage push notifications from within the App at any time:

• Use the Alerts tab in the App to toggle deal alerts on or off
• Disable specific categories (Price Errors, Run Deals, Deals, Freebies)
• Disable notifications from specific stores
• Set Quiet Hours to pause alerts overnight
• Disable all notifications at the operating system level via your device's Settings

Disabling notifications will not affect your ability to use the rest of the App.

12. Security

Data sent between the App or Site and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration, and destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States. By using our Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS
• WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM:
  • YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON OUR SERVICES OR CONTENT
  • ANY DEALS, PRICING, OR SAVINGS INFORMATION POSTED OR REFERENCED
  • EXPIRED, INACCURATE, OR CHANGED OFFERS
  • THIRD-PARTY LINKS, RETAILERS, OR EMBEDDED CONTENT
  • ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cheddar's Deals LLC, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Services
• Your violation of this Privacy Policy
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you submit through the Services

16. Third-Party Offers and Deal Accuracy

Cheddar's Deals shares third-party deals and offers as a convenience to our users. We do not control, endorse, or guarantee:

• Prices, discounts, or promotion validity
• Product quality, authenticity, or availability
• Shipping, returns, refunds, or customer service from third-party retailers
• Terms and conditions of any third-party offer

Any transaction you enter into through a third-party link is solely between you and the third-party retailer. We are not a party to that transaction and assume no responsibility for it.

17. App Store and Platform Terms

If you download the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, your use is also subject to the applicable platform's terms of service. Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not parties to this Privacy Policy and have no obligations regarding the App.

18. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We may also notify you within the App or by other means where appropriate.

Continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using our Services.
